Wade isn't the player he was - sad but true. Shouldn't get a contract based on past achievements.
May as well get Leutele, Feki, Bird and Chad back as well if thats the case, and try convince Maloney, Lewis and Heino out of retirement at same time
Chad is going OK.

Playing Graham right now when he probably is good enough to make the 17, and considering offering him a contract at some stage later in the season, does seem like the exact same thing as getting 39 year old failed boxer Chris Heighington out of retirement to come back.

All good - I don’t have inside intel on this situation but the fact that he’s coming out saying he wants one more year then will go overseas sounds like to me that this is something he and the club have already gone through.

I don’t agree to it but it seems like that’s how it’s going to play out, I’m yet to see that ruthlessness from Fitz more or less we’ve seen the opposite so would be surprised if this situation is any different
I was hoping you were some mole planted by the forum to infiltrate the inner sanctum of the Sharks!!

Oh well. Looks like you are just another pleb like the rest of us!

It is, i agree, and very controversial. But injury is the only thing which i can see stopping him from getting an undeserved 1 yr extension.
His form is down and has been since his last extension.
He openly admits hes gonna go to SL in 2024 to Catalan for that final payday, so would simply be using the Sharks as a stopgap till then because his misso doesnt have her citizenship.
If she were a citizen now he'd be off lile a shot, so i dont want us being stuck with him for 1 more year.
Not a great take mate.

I didn't really want to see Wade back, mainly due to concerns for his health. But you can't deny he's been improving every game and looks pretty solid (in every way..!)
I love watching Teig. We play a great style when he's on the field. But I don't see Wade playing the same role next year, if he's here at all. Teig is young and still could learn plenty off Wade.

Just like Fifita, in the right role (which is something Fitz seems really good at figuring out) Wade can be a big asset for us for a while yet.

I don’t know why I don’t see it with Wade, when he was captain and playing we struggled for leadership and now that he’s back playing I can’t see how we need his leadership let alone need him on the edge with how he cramps his outside players and then on top of it you have Teigs development copping it while Wade gets all the first grade time. We see how much better all these players are getting with more time in first grade

Fifita shows his value himself in other ways and you also hear about it from other players where we hardly hear the same about Wade

100% agree.

Has been average for years….the thought of him playing 5 or 6 decent games and then trying to get a new contract is scary.

Totally get all of that, completely reasonable. But hearing Fitz talk about Fifita I think there's a lot these guys contribute that's not just TA's and tackles that gives the whole squad a boost. No-one gets the 3 pts for that, but I'm getting it more now. And seeing Wade do that swim move though players again... Does give you a little tingle.

Probably not great for morals and cohesion if you just turf your Captain, either.

Adding nothing. Really hope we delay extending him for as long as possible, not like other clubs will be banging down the door.

I thought he went well, he adds a different dimension to our other players. Though it’s like none of his teammates remember his playing style.
