Just saw a tweet saying Benny Elias reckons teams should get double points in magic round. I don't think I've ever heard a worse RL take.

He must be confusing the game of rugby league with the game of pinball

I was always still going to back Broncos to win despite having Reynolds out but in saying that, I thought Newcastle were rather unfairly treated last night, the Broncos along with Melbourne & Penrith always get treated better then other teams & more home games then anyone. That was a clear obstruction by Broncos but got ignored by the bunker, most other teams the bunker would have called that an obstruction last night. Gagai when he scored his try in the 1st half, that should have been a try without a doubt. The bunker are just terrible & it's killing the game.
Hey Sharkboy - I saw those same two plays & agree the Tigers got the shaft on both of them. Can you imagine Craig Bellyaches reaction if Melbourne were scored against on that “non obstruction” play.

Unbelievable.

Brandy called it well - “They are adding new words into the rules now - Pass before he had got past the front runner”

Hey GF, do you mean Newcastle or were Tigers done on both those plays too? I missed parts of their game tonight unfortunately.

tigers must be looking forward to having Douehi back soon. Him and Hastings will be a bloody decent halves pairing IMO

Brooks has been going good with weight off him, reckon they start with Doueihi in centres

Also random thing…

Apparently while Chris Anderson was Aus coach team was going so strong that on a tour of Britain the ARL instructed him to get the players blind drunk the night before some of their warm up matches, which were against France and Wales, so Kangaroos didn’t embarrass them too badly.
He was unhappy about it but did it anyway.

I just looked up scores, beat France 34-10 and Wales 76-4
England A 26-22 but not sure if they did it against them or not.
Aus won all three tests against GB

Surely not, wouldn’t it be far better to pick the fringe players for such matches rather than the above

The Nrl might need to get Melbourne and Penrith to do the same. Give us other 14 clubs a chance.

They were trying to show it was a serious game so I don't think second string players would do it.
Had a consultant come into work with booze on his breath... At 10am. Last time we source people through the Anderson agency

Might not have taken a super deep squad
And most of their games against GB were pretty close so they may have wanted to actually have their combos playing

My bad, yes I was agreeing with your call - Newcastle were shafted twice.

It a money game; lots of revenue if the Broncs / Parra etc are towards the top of the table.
