Lodge one of the form props in the comp.
Best mates with Fifita.
Very shark like of late to keep everything as tight as a dolphin ass.
Won’t be surprised if it’s us.

Latrell and JAC have been smart enough to keep their heads down. Though I don't really need either in our team.
You just can't compare a remote camping trip to a 13 player spreader event... that everyone lied about and tried to cover up. That Vaughan organised.
And even if it's a media beat up (which it always is to some degree), it wouldn't take much for Vaughan to draw a lot more of the wrong kind of attention, and he's shown he's not smart enough to avoid it. As a club I'm not putting myself in that firing line
You're right, the camping is worse. They went to a remote location with a high indigenous population who statistically have lower health outcomes. At the early stages of the pandemic, while vacinations were low/non existant, and they were with 12 people. Again, i'm no advocate for vaughan, I think he is an idiot too. But he wouldn't have copped the same treatment or smear campaign if he was a star player.

As a prop I like him and want him at the sharks
As a person I hate him and want him nowhere near us

Very torn
1000%. But the hate wins out for me. He is a fantastic footballer but one of the worst humans to play the game. What he did was unforgivable and I couldn't support him.

That's just morally reprehensible mate, why does the NRL care?
There's a pretty blatant scale of wrong in the NRL's eyes that goes like:
Did bad stuff but it wasn't really perceived as related to the great game - slap on the wrist, a few tsk's and a please don't do it again.
Did bad stuff that made the game and it's management look bad directly - exiled for life where possible.

Lodge I'd take for rest of this season but wouldn't be overly happy to sign him properly. On a moral scale he is much worse than Vaughan.

Vaughan endangered the whole NRL is direct opposition to what NRL was saying but also very specifically what his coach told him earlier that day.
Not worse from a moral or legal stand point but 'worse' from an NRL/club standpoint. He has made himself untrustworthy to clubs.
Spraying the media when told to keep his mouth shut is minimal but just doubles down on what got him sacked in the first place. He may not be a criminal but in the eyes of NRL clubs he's a bad clubman.

I don't think anyone would call it 'worse' than Lodge, but it is a very very different circumstance.

Did bad stuff that made the game and it's management look bad directly - exiled for life where possible.
NRL let him serve his suspension while not contracted and let him sign with new club, they aren't stopping him doing anything.
Clubs don't want him because he refuses to listen to their directives. You can't build a reputation for ignoring coach/club directives and then be surprised when coaches/clubs don't want you.

Matt Lodge granted immediate release from Warriors
Plenty of talk about him going to the Dolphins, but unless he plans on a 6 month holiday with no pay, makes sense he's signing with someone for the rest of this year plus.

Tigers and Dogs have been mentioned.

Haha I think we have come round to the same side of the argument. The perception is all to do with reporting from the media. They left the darlings alone mostly so it was swept under the rug, they have hung, drawn and quartered vaughan so no one wants to touch him.
