Maybe he can teach Ramien a thing or 2 in D

Jesse didn't miss a tackle against the Warriors but if you are referring to making legal tackles both players have struggled with discipline though Jesse a worse offender, especially when it comes to suspensions. Wilton more of a ruck infringer who sometimes gets a tackle wrong.

Fifita can does and will continue to win them games but it is very hard to get 1.2 million value from him week in week out in an otherwise weaker team he is supposed to be the saviour of from the edge.

Haven't quoted your whole post but agreed with it and good points, especially the difference between building your reputation and getting upgrades over time that get you towards the $1 mil mark vs. bursting onto the scene and getting a very sudden and drastic pay rise in the $1 mil range.

The former type of players typically have a longer more consistent career with less chance of it going the other way with a drastic pay decrease when it all falls apart.

Fifita was and never will be about value at the Titans. He was brought in to help their club win a couple extra games a year (something he does). For a club that will do well to win as many as they lose that could be the difference between playing finals or not

Let's say the Titans didn't put all that coin on Fifita and instead spread it around a few positions going for a more 'balanced' team. Would they really be going much better? Doubt it

, typo, didn’t mean tower, meant rower, as in 2nd rower

Rowing is an Olympic Sport - no wonder he is so good

If there's any bloke that'd benefit from those push support players in motion it'd be DFitita. Would run riot with us or Melbourne.
Agreed. He even just needs to be used as a decoy more regularly. He should always suck in two defenders.

They seemed to be trying that. The only problem looks to be that the guys getting the ball aren't good enough to make something of it. That or it's gotten predictable... they were doing it a lot.

Probably not but if they could have got him (if he had truly wanted to sign there and not just cash in) and he signed for say, 900k, it makes potentially a huge difference.
Then someone else can be a 400k player instead of a 100k player and is a legit starter or very good bench player instead of a nobody.
Not only is Fifita under less scrutiny then due to less pay but he is also in a better team.

Of course there is the old and not unreasonable theory to take what you can get when you can get it because it's a short career.

Anyway after all that digression, let's talk about Tieg and how good he has been this season.

Wade has been back for two games now and I know he is still feeling his way back but Tieg has held his spot and in my opinion he deserves to keep holding his spot.

I haven't seen the stats and haven't really noticed but does he play 80 mins?

Yeah I can't see how we can drop Teeg back to the bench really, his form is too good.

The onus is on Wade to get back to his best and force the issue, until then Teig stays in the starting 13.

He’s been playing 80 mins except for last week when Graham came on.

He’s our best back rower and I think we will be going backwards to take his starting spot away or even play him less minutes.

His tries against the Raiders, Warriors and Eels came at crucial times and are examples of what he can come up with and why we need him out there for 80 mins when the games are on the line.

Typically - he averages 74 mins per game
Nikora averages 77
15th and 7th in NRL for average minutes for second rowers

That's pretty good, those stats would suggest he plays 80 minutes most games.
Yeah I know Tigers both guys were off a bit, just had a look and Nikora for 20 Teig for 15, and Broncos Teig gave minutes to Wade too.
Almost every other week both would have played 80

Two young powerful 80 minute second rowers. Sign them both long term

This guy needs to be starting , we are a better unit when he does , there is a place for loyalty but it is professional sport .

SUPER DYNAMIC fresh off the bench .
And fresh cover IF a back goes down .
