Agreed mate. Always hard in a season though to be able to play your best 17 just one game let alone a few in a row. I believe that if we are able to play our top 17, Trindall won't be there. Obviously we won't have our top 17 for another 3 months now with BHU out but here is my top 17 excluding BHU.

Kennedy
Katoa
Ramien
Talakai
Mulitalo
Moylan
Hynes
Rudolf
Brailey
Finucane
Nikora
Wilton
McInnes

Graham (when he returns - could be this week)
Hunt (did better last night I thought)
Tolman
Williams (hopefully cuts out the mistakes)

Missing out are Trindall, Fifita, Pele etc.

Imagine if we kept that 17 fit and firing.
Very solid squad, with a bit of depth to get us through. Nice to see the depth we've needed are for the most part playing in the 17 at most clubs

I haven't included Tracey or Ikavalu because they are backs and I don't see them displacing the current 1-5 unless through injury. But they are very handy backups to have, much less Hiroti.

I've watched a fair bit of the lower grades and don't see anyone of huge note coming through, I think they all need a bit more time. Watched Rivett last night in the Flegg and I really don't think he did anything spectacular. Certainly solid but felt he would be much better in that grade.

Agree with the 17 but I have Graham in my starting side over Wilton. That's hoping that Graham can come back with good form.

When he does come back I hope he doesn't try and do too much and cramp Sifa.
Sifa will just push him away too if that happens.

I think with all the training they do it will be fine. I'm looking forward to seeing how Graham goes with good quality players either side of him. Opportunities are endless!

Graham's a pretty cluey footballer, should be okay.
We'll miss that line Teig runs though. Manly were caught covering it a lot in the first half, it's where Talakai's space was coming from. Maybe Graham will do something similar and take a few runs through that 'courage' line

he better do cause a key part of those very effective fast sweeps out wide to our backline is cutting out our second rower

I don't wanna see Wade overcall these plays to get the ball cause he's captain and wants to play like the old ways. If teams start defending our backline sweeps better then ok we can review and maybe look to utilise Wade more hands on ball or whatever floats our boat

Unlikely, given Protocols

How do you figure that. He was unavailable for the Eagles game due to the 5 day turn around. He passed his HIA at the ground. Given his history yeah they probably would have rested him even if it was a longer turn around.

If he doesn't play on Thursday it wont be due to protocols it'll be the club being careful.

I think he'll play though.

It won’t be the protocol stopping him playing - it would be the coaching staff making a decision on his health and getting through a long season ..

I’d be pretty surprised if he’s not named.

Plenty of players playing within 12 days of an HIA.

Only ones I can think of missing games are Dale, Ronnie and Tuilagi from Tigers who call didn’t get named on 5 day turnarounds

I think he will be rested another week as he has a history of HIA

Missed a number of games last year due to HIA if I recall correctly.
It’s a long season and can turn into a long 4 years if it we don’t go above and beyond to keep him fit and fresh.
22 day rest is perfectly timed, we are sitting well on the ladder and playing good footy. Comes back for 4 games then the bye.
