I saw a couple of weeks ago in one of those player question segments - who is the toughest person to tackle? I remember someone saying Nelson, hes all knees and elbows. I dont know how he gets away with running with his elbow cocked like that, seen it contact a few times in every game the last few weeks. I dont think the knee was deliberate, but he bloody launched it into a falling player, could have killed him tbh

He uses his arms as bumpers and high knees running style into contact like most, especially props. But he's ****ing ginormous so his bumpers hit higher & you'd have a death wish going low before he was slowed down a bit.

NRL has made it abundantly clear all responsibility is on the defence & the ball carrier can do things they can't like shoulder charge or come in with raised forearms. If the ball carrier slips & hits the tackler's hand it's a penalty. If the ball carrier backs into a tackle & puts himself in prime position for pressure on his neck it's not his fault. The balance is broken for sure.

If he blood launched it into him it sounds deliberate...

Don't think it was. DWZ ricocheted mid-air off someone into NAS's path as he was chasing through on his kick. Nasty accident that if it wasn't something NAS's size would probably have a busted leg too.

Loads of players do it, just his contact point is higher.
I thought he probably gave Dale a forearm to chew on last week but when I watched it back just bad head position by Dale on that occasion.

The knee I think entirely accidental, just reactively tried to hurdle falling player and clocked him in the face instead.

Haha very similar to what I wrote at same time.

Another that annoys me favouring ball carrier… if they offload at or just after held call they just get it back, if defence execute a clean one on one strip with same timing it’s a penalty… dumb

The whole 'when is a tackle complete' is a massive grey area. Sometimes you can gang tackle a guy 12m backwards mid field but if it's 3m into touch or in-goal you're pinged. Then sometimes not.

You don’t have an issue with it?
You dont think he could have refrained from blowing a bubble for like 1-2 mins?
He doesn't strike me as a deep thinker. I expect none of his cognitive power was being directed into 'do I or do I not blow bubbles currently' if he was already doing it when he ran out. That is to say, more likely just lack of thought than any intentional disrespect.

PM Scotty on his mobile though...

He should have said that he was doing it in respect for the American soldiers who gave Australians gifts of chewing gum and nylon stockings when stationed here during WW2.
Then he could say they're lucky he just stuck to the gum.

Andrew Gee gets dumped for his officiating of the Dragons/Roosters game.
Adam Gee even :)LOL:) and I think that is a complete joke he got dumped. I think Gee is one of the better refs running around and if they are talking solely about the Daniel Tupou incident, it was the bunker that stuffed up not Gee. They had a look at it and determined that it was penalty sufficient when it was a sin bin offence for sure.

On the other hand, Klein who was the senior bunker official, not only gets to keep his job but gets an extra match in the bunker and gets a trip to Darwin to referee a match.

Something doesn't quite sit right with all of this.

Agree. Once play stops and there are replays it becomes the bunkers responsibility.

Probably the same bunker that put McInnes on report a few weeks ago.

Isn’t he now the roosters bunker official this week?

Andrew, Adam, Anthony, Alan….….. Whatever! 😉 😂

IMHO, he shouldn’t have had to wait for the video ref to make a ruling as it was pretty clear what initially happened but I get your point.

I actually thought there were a lot of circumspect rulings during that game (at one stage I think I commented on the Dragons being up against 14) so it is more likely that it is due to more than that one incident but just easiest to single that one out as it was the most obvious???

or, I could just be talking ****!
