Rudolf said Dale passed his concussion test FYI so would have played on if not for intervention of independent docs interpretation of video

Cool, the independent doctor watching from a thousand kilometres away.

Surprised the NRL doesn’t do an announcement at the stadium “Is there a Dr. In the house”

I mean why can’t they afford a Dr. to be at the ground and properly assess.
I can understand maybe an independent doctor in the bunker looking for onfield knocks which may get missed by club trainers etc but surely once they leave the field the club doctors are responsible for the assessment etc. It is their ass on the line if they do the wrong thing.

Using my above example, maybe it should work like this:

1. Independent doctor sees something and directs player to leave field for assessment

2. Club doctor assesses playet and completes a report for submission to Independent Doctor to review post match (justifying their decision whether a players stays off or goes back on).

3. If Independent doctor has an issue with the report he files with the integrity commission for further enquiry / investigation etc.

I get the protect the player from themselves. But at some point it’s on the player.

You can’t box for like 3 months after being KOd but our sport thinks it’s 5 days.

Besides I think having already said I don’t mind doc pulling player for test but I question their capacity (an consistency) making a ruling…

If 5 days is too short between brain injury and next game how many players with an undetected concussion play 5 days later?
Is the NRL endangering players by disturbing 5 day turn arounds?

What's the point of the test then? Sounds like getting your license suspended for DUI, taking & passing the breath test but the copper's initial suspicion you're drunk still stands.

Not sure

I’d assume it’s good practice from the team to still get a sense of how bad player is.

You need to pass each following stage of the test to get cleared… it’s possible passing the initial test speeds this process up, or theres a delay in independent doc deciding not to pass him but meanwhile sharks doc starts going his job, or Rudolf could have been referring to first stage of the test the next day even.

Fingers crossed it looked like forwards came through unscathed… who drops for Dale next week?

Fifita or Williams for me

Not sure in the stats for either one, but I would say Fifita to be dropped.

Fifita
Gives away too many penalties, grabs at jerseys in defence with zero upshot in attack

Probably should be Fifita but the blokes the Sharks' Terminator.
You could also let Trindall have a run for Newtown and keep an extra forward

On a dry, fast Suncorp track Fifita could get really shown up.

I kicked him off the bench in his thread haha

You could just bump him out for Dale but I would bring Miller (especially if any concern over WK), Tracey or even Graham in. Graham another forward but could jump at half if needed and allows plenty of forwards to ease him back in

Will be interesting to see how long Fitz sticks with the Ten Minute Trindall experiment. All the question marks over player return timings doesn't help

Agreed mate. Always hard in a season though to be able to play your best 17 just one game let alone a few in a row. I believe that if we are able to play our top 17, Trindall won't be there. Obviously we won't have our top 17 for another 3 months now with BHU out but here is my top 17 excluding BHU.

Kennedy
Katoa
Ramien
Talakai
Mulitalo
Moylan
Hynes
Rudolf
Brailey
Finucane
Nikora
Wilton
McInnes

Graham (when he returns - could be this week)
Hunt (did better last night I thought)
Tolman
Williams (hopefully cuts out the mistakes)

Missing out are Trindall, Fifita, Pele etc.

Imagine if we kept that 17 fit and firing.
