we just wernt the same without DF tonight , Tolman did his best to cover up our defense (he was excellent in this regard as per usual) but we lost some hard runs up the guts and around the ruck plus the leadership factor

hope Dale is ok, it didn't look too bad?
Yeah I thought it wasn't as bad,
I was certain he would come back 2
yeah he stumbled a little

but paps got knocked out there - can't recall who knocked him. got up struggling (on top of the other injury)
but he looked out of it for a time. and nothing ....no independent doctor made a call on him

there was another forward from storm that had a head knock, he was struggling behind the ruck. nothing, didn't come off

He came up stumbling/unsteady on his feet. I think that's enough to be a category 1 symptom and automatically rule him out.

three storm players reel and stumble out of tackles; paps, grant and another forward (King I think)
surely that's cat 1???

I don’t know. He left the field running, he was talking and joking on the bench. Then again @bort says he did not even fail his test, it was just the dr deciding.
Yeah commentators said independent doctor rules him out as cat 1
Not unreasonably I don’t think although seems to be a lot of grey area around who they stick with that and who they don’t.
Does hurt that not only could he have passed and come back potentially (he seemed sweet afterwards) but also costs us him next week, based on interpretation of video only

Also I though big NAS forearm but went back at half time and he just ate shoulder front on to his whole head

Yep seems to be the case these days. I knew straight away he wasn't coming back.
We live in a world where a person whose never played the game, probably never met Dale is telling a seasoned pro he can't carry on. From a TV screen.

Maybe Dale can observe that doc's next consultation & pass final judgment without any experience in the field.

He was pretty clearly groggy from a hit to the head... pretty clear cut according to the rules. Has a bit of concussion history from memory, so probably worth (at a min) playing it safe.

Because he ran into an Easter island statue and didn’t celebrate with a backflip.

I don’t mind the docs making the call to pull people for test but deciding they auto fail seems iffy.

So let him fail the test

Losing him was the dagger to the heart for us tonight. We did admirably for the most part without him, but we just lost that discipline and edge he brings. What might of been. Oh well.

Sometimes running into a big unit running at you hurts. Stuns you even. Doesn't mean you're unfit to continue. They clearly don't understand this aspect of the game.

ahhh I thought it was forearm
thanks for clarifying
I wanted it to be forearm so I could whinge about it, but replay on my phone looked like bad form by Dale and clean by NAS

He looked like he was sucking in some deep breaths as he ran back to line which isn’t typical of head knock. May have just got the piss knocked out of him.
Played with a bloke who took first hit up of the game and got belted, shook a nugget into the toilet at half time. Wasn’t concussed though.

It’s not consistent though. If that’s a fail you could fail an average of two people a game.

He got failed by the Sharks doc didn't he? Not the independent doc?

More than likely, we’ll be right, this will give us some resolve & just add another piece to where we want to get too as a side.
