The old Alfie special, the “Cumberland throw”.
Consider it Dangerous and should it be banned?

I personally think so as it puts the ball carrier in a very awkward position with a greater risk of injury (just my opinion).

Basically the exact move Lawrie did which causes Ikuvalu current injury and there was no outcry. People only care because it’s Cleary

I’m not concerned that it was because it was Cleary that did it.
I think it should be called out regardless. Even if it was one of our players.
Thats how you cause serious knee injuries.

Ikuvalu injured as a result just adds to my point.

I mean people in general. Was no additional attention on it when Lawrie injured Ikuvalu but there is now that it’s Cleary despite not even causing an injury this time

Thankfully for Walters he wasn’t injured.
Cleary gets away with only a fine with any early plea (should be at Least a week).
I think both players are very lucky.

Maybe it gets a bit more limelight and the NRL gets a bit more stringent on it.

can see it now...
magic round - NRL goes all nuts on the hip drop tackle; they all look like Clearys and players will go for a few weeks. he gets a fine 😏

That was very dangerous. Even the channel nine commentators who usually sing Cleary’s praises were upset by that tackle.

All players are equal but some are more equal than others.

Trying to find info on concussion protocols - under the NRL Concussion policy it mentions a 6 step recovery process with each step undertaken every 24 hours (after recovery from symptoms)

I guess we will know more around 4pm whether Dale gets named.

Watching the Benji show last night with Hynes - Nicho was saying that Dale stayed in his footy gear during the game on the bench (even though he knew he couldn't come back on). He just wanted to stay part of the action!

Have you got a source for that because I don't think that is correct at all
No just from my memory from reading those Protocols last season, as i managed a team and it was hammered continuously. I may be wrong, but thought from 17yo up it was the same as NRL protocols.

I may have had a few beers, but I'm pretty sure that link has Katoa returning Rd 7 as well?
