Yep they did, was a great game. Too little, too late from them though.

We should have declared a bit earlier yesterday, was no need to bat that long.
One of the things that annoys me about cricket, we made more runs and took more wickets but it is a draw mostly because of how bad at getting us out they were

Imagine if in NRL they’d call a draw if the losing team had less % of the ball just in case they would have won had it been even

Well done to the poms, a hard fought draw must nearly feel like a win to them.
They are bruised and battered heading to Tassie..

Not sure what you mean by this mate?
They couldn’t get us out so we kept batting until eventually we decided to just stop so they could have a turn. If they’d actually managed to get us out earlier than we ended up declaring their last stint would have had more time to potentially get a result one way or the other

That's on us, we were in total control. Mark Waugh said in commentary yesterday we were batting too long and he was bang on. Especially with rain forecasted. An extra 30 minutes and chances are we win.

Yeah just as a concept the general idea behind cricket is one team tries to hit the ball as much as they can while keeping from getting out, other team tries to get them out. End result of this game arguable worse for us because we kept doing cricket and didn’t let the other team have a go (which they are supposed to earn for themselves by getting us out).

I know there’s more to it than that

Yeah a lot more to it.

I love the complexities of Test match cricket, there's nothing else like it.

Last night was the perfect advertisement for test cricket over that 20/20 bullshit. Everyone felt the tension in the air, you even look at the kids in the ground riding every ball of those last 10 overs. There’s hope for the future yet.

I'm not a fan of T20 either but I can see why kids like it. I probably would have of it was around when I was young.

I used to play Twilight Cricket when I was a young fella. I think it was 20 overs a side and you had to retire when you'd scored 30 runs but were allowed to bat again if the rest of the team was bowled out.
Heaps of fun. One of the grounds was next to a caravan park and they brought in a rule that you could only bowl from one end because the caravans were under too much bombardment.

Kiwis sending out a squad for the upcoming 20/20’s and ODIS against the aussies minis their test players. Gonna be a pretty ordinary series but I understand why they’re doing it.

They got a test series against South Africa which starts 4 days after the ODIS so they’ve have to quarantine which means they wouldn’t be able to play.

Likely squad for the kiwis

1. Guptil
2. Allen
3. Chspmsn
4. Phillips
5. Munro
6. Neesham
7. Santner
8. Sohdi
9. Henry
10. Ferguson
11. Milne
12. Seifert
13. Taylor
14. Bracewell
15. Worker
