The 1st Ashes test starts in a few days time, why the heck has Fox sports all of a sudden come up with what the official 11 that we will be selecting, the official 11 won't be selected till the day/few hours before it properly starts. Stupid fox saying it's the official 11 when they wouldn't have a clue.

Starc's opening ball hit the pitch and straightened. Was going down leg for all money before that.

Amazing delivery. If the batsman had gotten his heel in the way I don't think the DRS would have been able to predict a ball jagging back like that.

Whats that? The walking wicket known as Marcus Harris got out early and cheaply? Well colour me shocked.

Seriously who thought it was a good idea to bring him back???

Lasted 16 more balls than Rory though

The only 2 high quality batsman that could generally speaking be relied upon to perform most of the time we have had for the last few years now is the sandpaper cheat and the south african. The rest have been middling & or inconsistent

I hope Green and Keary can go well and show us something at this level though

our teams back in the day used to be absolutely stacked with batting talent the likes of

Langer, Hayden, Ponting, Clarke, Waughs (x2), Gilly, Martin, Katich, Symonds, Slater, Hussey ect.

it was actually quite ridiculous. most if not all had battings averages 40+ and some would destroy a team in a session if the top order had not already put the aussies into an unlosable position

now we struggle to even find a decent opening pair to throw out there. Warner's only decent in Aus it seems and his batting partner is a lucky dip

Our main chance of victory stems from our quality bowling line up and hoping they roll the opposition for a cheap score so our average batting line up can manage it. We have also relied too heavily in the Smith/Paine era of our tail end putting on runs.

The bowlers have carried this aussie team for a while now.

but when a big score is put on the aussies the batting line up is rarely up to the task. Getting to 300 runs feels like an achievement for them

Pretty happy with only being 1 down right now though and almost level with the poms first innings score!

Agree mate but the cupboard is pretty bare for openers.

Not sure what the answer is.

As much as I hate to say it because I thought his time was done. Maybe opening with Uzzie might of been the answer for the short term. Couldn’t be worse then this ****ing bunny. At least keep the spot warm until Pucovksi is over his issues, if he ever is.

Kurtis Pattinson could of been an alternative, I know he’s not always an opener but he’s done pretty good in the role.

I'm writing of Pucovski. Really hope I'm wrong but you just can't keep getting concussed like that.

Haven't seen much of Uzzie lately, how has he been going?

Like you I'm a big Renshaw fan, hopefully he can get some form back because I like his technique.

Pucovksi’s too young to write off, he really needs a change of luck.

Uzzie’s actually been scoring and was kept out of the test team by Head.

Renshaw? Yeah I really want him to do well, he just hasnt really kicked on lately has he? Correct me if im wrong but he’s not even opening at state level anymore is he? Been punted to the mid order. Such a shame, I still think he could be the answer but something drastic has to change with him.

That sounds right for Renshaw. I noticed he's been picked in the Aussie A team, don't know where he'll be batting though.

Not a fan of Head either. We'd me a mess without Smith and Lasagna.
