Craig Fitzgibbon has taken his first player from the Sydney Roosters to the Cronulla Sharks. Powerhouse winger Matt Ikuvalu has joined the Sharks on a two-year contract, effective immediately. He will begin training with the Sharks in two weeks.

Ikuvalu is depth and competition for the wingers - especially Ronnie when he's going through a quiet/bad patch

Wasn’t he the guy one game who was 18th man and then someone got injured in the warmup and he was a last minute starter?

And then proceeded to score five tries in that game?

Weren't most of the tries overlap close to the line? Still means he can catch better than Hotdog I guess

check his meters per game, they will surprise you
All his stats surprised me, 15 games this year and racks up 14 tries, 2 try assists, 18 line breaks, 63 tackles breaks, 151 meters per game and he’s even jagged a forced drop out.

At first I was hoping a bigger name but there is probably no one else available. He will definitely make our squad better for next year.

If he’s starting over say Tracey then it probably means he’s earnt it and if he doesn’t start, well he’s next in line and he’s better than having to trot out Hiroti, Wilton and Talakai in the backs

But equal 10th of average errors (1.6 per game) and 1.3 of that is handling errors (equal 11th worst average).

Roosters fans being happy to see him go and saying enjoy the errors says enough to take away from the better stats he has a bit.

This sums it up.

I'd be interested to know if that is from a couple of shockers driving up the average, or if he is actually dropping the footy at least once per game.

Depends what they are too. If he's diving for the corner or contesting a bomb 8-10 times per game and gets an error attributed to him because of it that hardly means he has poor hands. If he's spilling it 20 out on a simple hit-up a la Hiroti that's a different story.

If that's what it is
Well if it's not he's deserved his spot over the others then so be it. Gets my support.. till he drops it :)

Or it's to move Ronny to centres it gives us options instead of Tracey. Alot of people were keen on a centre instead of Tracey. Maybe it's Ronnie ?
