Mate, hate to break it to you, but each and everyone of us is going to catch COVID at some point. I don't see the point in not allowing them. Most people who have actually had the virus will end up with better long term immunity than any vaccine and should not be part of the mandates. You can also catch COVID from people who are vaccinated.
i cant see how that part is true being better off long term

we have a triathlete in our football team who used to run 40km for fun, he cant even walk a set of stairs without feeling like he is going to collapse

you can also catch the flu off someone with a vaccine, vaccines dont prevent catching or passing on, they help fight and stop the damage

They also reduce the likelihood of spread, you can still catch it off someone who has been vaccinated but they are both less likely to get it and then less likely to spread it. He did say better long term immunity though, not that they'd be better off long term (I'm not sure if having had it gives you better immunity than vax or not).

Regarding your triathlete I know people who have had similar, not that fit as a base but fit enough and healthy, spent around a month sleeping on the couches downstairs because going upstairs to their bedroom was too hard.

"Better long term immunity" was what I said, not that you are better off for catching it. The The russian flu pandemic from 1989-1891 is being compared as being similar and actually the virus still circulates today, but it has almost no effect on most people now. You will have a huge range of experiences of people with COVID-19 and working in Melbourne I have had a mix of colleagues and clients had COVID-19 with some recovering quickly without much fuss and others having more serious symptoms for a lot longer. There is actually some fairly good evidence now that immunity after exposure is quite long lasting. My cousin in the US is an immunologist and has written some papers on it.

I hope your mate gets better soon and I hope everyone when they are exposed to COVID recover well.

not really a fair representation of the circumstances though is it

Vaccine still being rolled out = legs play under (at times, very strict) conditions

Everyone vaccinated = need everyone vaccinated to avoid conditions so sorry no unvaxxed

AFAIK, normally, getting the disease and surviving it should give you better antibodies and therefore immunity better than any vaccine.

Vaccine, in the traiditional sense, is used so your body can fight off a "weak"virus and develop the antibodies and be ready for it when or if the time comes. Of course, this is true for traditional vaccines. Pfizer's tech is quite different.

Interesting Read
Lazy forwards ?

Cronulla used the least amount of players in the Telstra Premiership with 27 - a remarkable stat considering the club boasts the oldest and most experienced team in the competition with an average age of 26.7.

This surprised me!

Probably surprised you because we didn't see much of the old brigade because they were injured. Out of sight, out mind.

What conditions? Self isolating or playing in a bubble? What’s to stop them from doing it now? It’s fine for NRL to do that when they are losing money and they need them to play. Now those guys that went through all that, played in the bubble, kept the dollars coming in get hung out to dry

The players kept the dollars coming in for themselves mate. Do you think they get paid if the game is suspended for a long period of time?

You really think the NRL wanted the game to keep going to the players sake?

The least they could do is reimburse the players who aren’t vaxxed the money they had to sacrifice last year

You really think the players only played to look after the NRL?

I don't even know what is going on with the second part of the post, they should retroactively get paid the money their players union agreed to shave off so they could keep the comp running and pay them most of their wage still because they are being an ongoing headache for their club and the NRL?

No, and I’m not suggesting that. That’s your question. Of course you want to get paid your ridiculously high wage, why wouldn’t you?

I don’t get the second part of your post either

Ummm, yes.

Fair enough. You are welcome to think that, but I don’t think the power brokers really cared about the players, only their own bank accounts. They probably cared about getting the players on the field, but for their own sake.
