Sounds alright new staff is part of a rebuild…

Was interesting to see this…..roosters with a specialised wrestling coach….does Cronulla have this??? If not really hoping Fitz brings this as Cronulla really does struggle with slowing the play

He’s made no secret how he’s really big about the wrestle and gets involved himself so I almost guarantee we’ll get one

He’s been around a bit. Think they worked together before, can’t remember which one.

Also think I read about this a while back. Not sure if it’s to take over or help out. He’s not the head guy at Penrith.
Appreciate the infor. Going to be interesting who else he brings.

A Penrith S&C is meant to be coming here - I lost the article though.

It was mixed in with an article about Flano being tigers assistant

Can The New Coach Teach some Legs tackles, one on one as well?
No point, you either give away a quick ptb or hold on for a kick out or two and give away a six again. Bonus chance of an easy offload on the way down.
NRL doesn't want highshots but had made most low tackles punishments

I hope fixes our defence where we seem to plant our feet way to early in tackles with the result being teams March down field on us in tackle sets

There were def still some good ones during season but also saw a bunch either released too quick fearing 6 again or held onto a reasonable amount of time but called 6 again because tackled player was flopping around like they deserved a quick play the ball.

NRL would have to come on board and say a tackle like that will be rewarded with longer hold time - works well for their ‘no head high tackles’ plan but puts a lot of heads down near knees and hips so probably no safer in reality.

Great form shoulder just under/into ball and driving looks like the goer but easier said than done for many players

Yeah, that style tackle attracts plenty of hip head knocks as well

Riccio - has someone from Penrith joining our staff. Scott Campbell in strength and conditioning. No idea if this is good or not but it's a slow news day so I thought it was worth sharing.

Bit of insight to Scott Campbell. Seems experienced and well regarded.

Those videos the Panthers put out are great too. Wish the Sharks took that stuff more seriously.

Thanks Tiger, just watched the video. Campbell seems like a really switched on guy and should be a real asset to the squad.

Our boys won't know what's hit them this preseason between this bloke and Fitz.

We're getting quite the crew together. Scott's worked with the premiership winning clubs... And looking at a fourth. That's seriously impressive.

Definitely also since the sharkies lost their prior senior players in Gallen and Lewis the forward pack has seemed rudderless and consistently beaten up.

Hopfully by bringing in the current captain from the team regarded as the most professional in the league it will take the current young forward pack with a heap of unrealised potential to the next level in Talakai, Rudolf, Williams, Hunt, Pele, Wilton….
