Shocking game but I'm not giving up on him. Grant and Smith are the two best 9s in the comp this year easily, Brailey isn't at that standard sure, but no one else is either.

Even guys like cook and Api have been average this year. Agree that next year will be the true test of his metal, time to prove he is a grader or we move on for 23, when the two storm hookers are off contract.

The watch his small arse get dominated in a tackle for a slow AF play the ball

Well that's a real problem then if you can't have your 9 make a dart and get tackled because he's too small.

How one dimensional is that.

Yep can read him like a book.
Over the off season get on the shakes and develop a kicking game from dummy half.

Still think he'll come good with McInnes to guide him and provide him with some quick PTBs, but FMD some of his 4th/5th tackle decision making was ****e.

He’s scared, every time he sees an opportunity he stops running and looks to offload completely negating our momentum McInnes will play hooker next year

100%
Does not run at speed and does not want to get tackled.
The guy is actually extremely quick, not that you'd ever know.

This is just “Chad kicks it to the same winger” all over again. Brailey is playing like this because his coach wants him to. He’s not scared ffs.

Yes, and there’s a time for a dummy half to make a dart. You have to wait for the opportunity to present itself. You can’t just do it whenever you feel like it.

Cook does the same thing - makes a dart then looks for a supporting player. Guess he's gotten scared too

Talk about taking something out of context.

Cook gets tackled with the ball many times. He even gets past some sort of contact to break the line.

Unless Burgess is Josh Hannay we don’t know if it’s coach’s instructions to Brailey.. he can always make a nice run and possibly break the line or take the tackle

Fair enough. Correlation =/= causality. All we can say is that Brailey changing the way he plays to more like Cook/Buderus and less like Smith/Ennis is highly correlated with the coaching change at the Sharks.

He is just plain white rice at the moment, good base to start from. Here is hoping Fitz can turn him into special fried rice.

He'll be fine .
McInnes will iron out any kinks in his game and tutor him
Brailey will be physically stronger and playing behind a better pack next year will shine

Wasn't my intention mate. But to say he's scared... The guy was 1 on 1 tackling NAS! There's nothing wrong with his ticker. And the Cook comparison was to point out that other dummy halves play a similar way. Cook changed dramatically when Bennett started coaching South's. He used to be all "sloppy markers huh? See you at the other end of the field mother****ers!" Now he plays mostly like Brailey, looking around for support rather than going hell for leather down the field. Roles change and players change to suit the gameplan. Brailey might play completely differently under Fitzy (though I don't think he will unless he stacks on 10kg)

You don't think Ennis took the line on?
