I’d still get a guy in to challenge him though. We need a controlling, game managing half on the books because we don’t have one. It just gives a different option. I’m starting to think O’Sullivan could be a decent idea if he can’t secure a guaranteed spot elsewhere. Just as backup and to keep the heat on Trindall.

Between Trindall, Hynes, Moylan and Metcalf there should be plenty of competition for spots.

Not what I heard and not on their current injured list

Really? I might of been wrong then. Have they got another half out injured long term? Regardless, it doesnt have to O’Sullivan specifically, but a similar style of controlling half maybe. I just tossed Sean’s name out there.

I feel like apart from Trindall there isn’t really any proven long kicking games in that bunch, even Trindall’s still finding his way in that regard. I’m just thinking we need a different kind of option there in the squad just in case. Couldn’t hurt to be prepared for that scenario could it?

I think Trindall's kicking game has been pretty good tbh.

Agree though, he is the only halfback in that lot. I know there's been talk of Nicho as a HB but we haven't seen it yet.

The other two are out and out 6s.

Yep youve got it. I just feel like our long kicking will be horribly exposed if either Trindall goes down injured or he hits a horrible patch of form. Just feel it would be prudent to have that other option in our squad ready to go if needed.

I agree, he does need some proper HB competition.

Really wish we didn't re-sign Moylan, waste of money.

While I would personally call Hynes a 1/6 ahead of a 7 it’s interesting that Trindall is a work in progress who deserves more time but Hynes is being written off as a 7 after what, one game there?
Why, because we haven’t seen much of him playing as a controlling 7 while he wasn’t playing that position? How was Trindall as a controlling 7 while he was playing as a ball playing 13 off the bench?

Won’t surprise me at all if Hynes starts 2022 in our 7 jersey

If we wanted Hynes and Metcalf in the same run on next year at 5/8 and Centre .
Assuming Trindall good enough at halfback.
Which combo would be better
Hynes at 5/8 or Centre

The scenario where we don’t lose either 3 of them bro

Kicking game was on point tonight. Burgess might not agree but I thought it was way more accurate than Townsend normally delivers.

Controlled the game pretty well with his boot near the end. Put the ball on the tryline a few times pinning Brisbane down. Im delighted he’s showing that side of his game because I think this sort of thing is what we wont have with a Moylan/Hynes combo.

I wanted him banished to leper island when he dropped it on tackle 4 first half but he won me back with his try and I thought smart kicking second half, highligh mozza 1 on 1 v haas was very important

Best thing about him is that he’s a “footballer” and is willing to take it on. That is something that can’t be taught
