Really don't know why this fella in side over fifs. For the minutes he plays, barring injuries, offers very little to team. Fifs should b a walk up until cavalry r fit

Given he can't get selected ahead of Magoulias other than being popular what does he offer?
Not gunna play a bloke just because you (and tbh, everyone else) likes him more than Magoulias, or because he was really really good 3-4 years ago.

Magoulias hasn't done anything bad enough to get himself dropped and obviously Fifi hasn't done enough in cup to get himself promoted.

Also FTFY

Well I actually reckon fifs offers punch n grunt off the bench, something Billy definitely does not...don't think it has anything to do w being popular but guess ur right if coach not picking him, he's obviously looking for a different bench playing role

I don't really. He didn't play Q Cup in 2019 so was one of those kids that lost a whole year. He has effectively jumped from Blackhawks U20's Colts to NRL. I do know that the Cowboys won't be giving him up any time soon. (Jack Martin was in all of those same squads btw). Note also that Condon is a back rower rather than a middle.

I was thinking Ben's weight would lend him to being able to cover middle forward (has played there in lower grades) but I would agree now that his build is suited more to backrow.

kinda like a taller, heavier and lankier Wilton

Ben had a solid game on the weekend - Chad will enjoy feeding him some ball into half gaps on the edges

He definitely could play middle forward, but good back rowers are harder to find that 40-minute middles. They'll keep him there for now I reckon. Back row has been an issue for them. Wright, Dunn, Hess have all had some good moments and very bad ones.

Yeah Ben Conden is looking like that Gavin Cooper type of edge back rower .

Really impressed with Wiltons work rate - looking like a Tyson Frizzelle type on the edge who could easily jump into the middle at a pinch ..

Wilton has been huge for us. 200m against the Knights and 50 tackles the week prior against the Roosters. he is also missing tackles and getting played out of position but when he can bring it all together and get consistent games in the backrow he could become a valuable player for us if not already

Yep, I'd agree with you. Passes the eye test

I'm happy he gets a crack this week. We have been the only side pushing out a bench full of big men and its not working.

I'm not a Billy fan, but I think we need to try something different.

Big audition for Billy Mags if he wants some interest in him for next season.

Someone else needs to step up to the mark and send Ponga's mouthguard flying now that Chad's gone.

Has offered zero every chance he's been given, think we're flogging a dead horse there...obviously shows we're at the bottom of the barrel

may as well

the opposition will be at our 10m line on the 4th tackle regardless if we send it long from the kick off or not

Billy kicks off short, gets to it first and kicks it off the ground over the defenders to regather for a try.
Then kicks the conversion
