yeah he doesn't give me great confidence from a defensive stand point. He's going to get bumped off or dragged in so many tackles.

Tbf he was marked up against staggs who is a tackle breaker every day of the week. Tracey actually smashed him in the first half. Thought he did ok all things considered.

Tracey: 2 tries, 17 runs for 158m (61PCM), 1 line break, 5 tackle breaks, 9 passes, 6 tackles made 6 tackles missed 1 ineffective, 1 error, 1 penalty

Staggs: 1 try assist, 8 runs for 117m (29PCM), 2 line break, 4 tackle breaks, 3 passes, 13 tackles made 4 missed, 1 error

Staggs only played 60mins obviously, but that is what it is, can't hold that against Tracey. Given one is a fill in centre (starting 3rd game there out of his 33 games) and the other is verging on being an elite centre (having started 30+ games there of his 48) I don't think Staggs outplayed Tracey that much. Certainly both played well in offence and coaches/fans would have liked them to play better in defence.

Funnily enough the true centre wants to be a 5/8 and the 5/8 may end up a centre.

I certainly don't think there is no hope for Tracey if we did focus him on centre. Personally I think best fit for our side is we find a centre elsewhere and Connor is a super sub/mr fix it

Staggs is a couple years younger though and overall would expect him to have a much better career

On recent form, he’s all effort. Can’t knock him for that.
It’s sad but, he’s got minimal ability.

At 6 tonight against manly.
He was invisible.

He’s always been invisible at half bro, let’s just hope we don’t put him there again - let him focus on wing or centre and nail it

Played as a link man tonight. Definitely at his best when he's thinking run and has some space.

He's a 14

100%.

He can fill in ok at centre or wing, but he would never be elite in either of those positions. He's not robust enough for those tough carries - despite having plenty of heart. Good to have in the squad though. If he can put on a bit more muscle like Connor Watson could be real dangerous coming on late in each half and bringing some energy into the middle of the field.

He's played a fair bit at hooker off the bench already. Was his position most of last year.
DOH!!! You are right, I had to think back to our injury plagued season. I just see him as a hooker and reminds me of Cook, has pace off the mark and elusive. Playing in the middle with tired forwards just seems obvious.

Cant pass though so his service at 9 would be awful.

He’s a 14.

Did Brailey play 80 mins last night?

My issue with Brailey is he looks like a kid amongst men. He needs to bulk up. He is 3cm taller and 7kg lighter than Grant. He is also 3cm taller and 8kg lighter than Cook.

For memory, I think I’ve read before that he has a few meals more than everyone else each day (even middle of the night) to try to bulk up.
Maybe his body frame “is what it is”???

I like Tracey's heart, but yeah I would prefer him at 14.

Metcalf should more danger and skill in his small stint than Tracey did the whole game.

A lot of our squad have this problem - some of them need to go on a big meal program next year
