4-18 at half time.

Garlic scored (seems to make a habit of scoring) but unfortunately Chad missed the conversion.

Pele didn’t play much. Maybe injured?

Saw a few Sharks there. Rudolf, Tolman, Tracey. Hannay and the other coaches were there.

Bomber was there too

Newtown 26
Luke Metcalf 2, Mawene Hiroti, Nene Macdonald, Bronson Garlick tries; Chad Townsend 3 conversions
defeated
Blacktown Workers Sea Eagles 12
Tolutau Koula, Christian Tuipulotu tries; Brad Keighran 2 penalty goals.

Looks like there was really significant wind and Blacktown were up 0-12 at halftime before Jets got the win and won 26-12

Chad said “Bronson Garlick was outstanding, and Luke Metcalf was quite brilliant and he’s got a very bright future.”

Hazelton dropped out for Fifita and Kurt Dillon played lock (Monty to bench)

What’s the story with Hazelton.
He showed a lot of promise during the trial matches.
Has he been playing well? Is he worth a call up for next season?

He’s hardly been playing the last month, actually probably longer but don’t know if it’s injury related?

Bronson Garlick has signed with the Storm.

Good move for him. NSW Cup is in limbo but Q Cup is going strong. Signing with the Storm gets him permission to go to Qld and he'll be able to play games for the Falcons in Q Cup within a couple of weeks.

I was anticipating a few similar moves before 1 August (NSW Cup players signing development/depth deals with Melbourne, NZ or one of the 3 Qld teams so that they can actually play footy)

yeah that's a good point, didn't even think of that.

I think I read that there was a plan to have some clubs NRL players loaned out to the Q Cup so they can get some game time. Not sure where that's at but it's not a bad idea if they're up the rest of the season.
