University Research on Fans' Views of Racism in the NRL

Dear all,

I am an academic at the University of South Australia (my details are included at the beginning of the survey) and I am conducting some research on fans’ views of racism in the NRL. To do so, I have constructed an anonymous survey and it should only take a few minutes of your time to complete:

What’s the purpose of questions? Like what sort of paper will come of the data you collect?
Can’t stand racism, but also can’t stand whiney left wingers with their buzz words trying to bring their BS into sport.

Done. Found it interesting that one question asked if the NRL should be doing more ?? I actually answered no. They have there guidelines and protocols and punishments in place. Not sure what else they are meant to do. Think its a societal issue that needs to be addressed at an early age by parents and with ongoing education.

Good call - in addition the NRL is a sporting body not the UN

Push things too far and you risk putting in place arbitrary measures or virtue signalling which helps no one and is counterproductive against the genuine efforts and desires

However I do believe sport has a unique opportunity and ability to bring people together and break down barriers and that can flow out into general society.

The NRL to it's credit isn't just about ticking a box to be compliant or look 'responsible' like typical corporations that fall into the woke trap. The NRL understands that indigenous peoples for instance (among other cultures, backgrounds ect) are a large and valued part of our player and supporter base and it's makes sense socially and business wise to protect that and stand up for that, hopefully evolving our relationships to one another in time and along the way.
