The Cronulla Sharks have told highly paid stars Shaun Johnson, Josh Dugan and Aaron Woods that their services are not required next year, freeing up $2 million of salary cap space.New coach Craig Fitzgibbon broke the news to the three former internationals in the last 24 hours, giving them early notice to have ample time to find new clubs for next season.
There is strong mail that the Canberra Raiders are ready to pounce on Johnson as a replacement for recently departed half-back George Williams.

The Daily Telegraph understands the Sharks may consider early releases if Woods, 30, Johnson, 30 or Dugan, 31, can find new clubs over the next few weeks.
The players spoke to their team mates at training on Thursday afternoon to inform them of the developments.
The Sharks are building an impressive roster for next season with the signings of highly regarded Melbourne Storm utility Nicho Hynes and St George-Illawarra utility forward Cameron McInnes.

Wow, just wow.

I really hope we have something in the pipeline for a halfback.

Moylan will not ****ing work, people think Chad has a bad kicking game.

Wow must be untenable with Johnson. Sounds like Fitz kept on chasing SJ and gave up, said screw it then.

If it's really that bad **** him off now I say.

Seriously, no Chad and no SJ next year, we really have to get game time into Trindall NOW.

I just hope we a genuinely paying Moylan **** all. 300k max.

I also hope we continue to be smart with recruitment here. We don't necessarily need to buy anyone that is currently on the market, Finucane the exception.
From there I think we can get some youngsters looking for a shot, and bide our time for a release or front load slightly and go big for 23 where there are much better prospects available.

Well now the NRL.com article has said we aren't chasing Finucane. So not sure.

Moylan at halfback? Not really sold on it to be honest, but no choice if SJ is being a baby.
