think logically here, do you think mooney is going to announce it to a forum of fans? considering how the mcinnes and hynes deals played out?

Yep

Or if the meeting was a week earlier and if they asked about Hynes instead what would they have said.

I do this thing where I try to not get my hopes up. So if something good happens, I am pleasantly surprised.

I wonder if SJ liked Bomber because he let him get away with things whereas Fitzy won’t.

If you believe the media Bomber approved of a 2 yr 800k pa deal for him. Club then knocked that on the head and haven't budged on a lower deal, not sure if it's even a multiyear deal either.

So Bomber going has probably cost SJ alot of money. Could be why he's having a tanty too

I’m happy with only one of them. We have enough good props to build around one of them. Getting both would just be a bonus.

I definitely agree we don't need both. Our middle depth is very good and we can spend money better elsewhere. For 6 (assuming) middle spots we have:

Toby, Mcinnes, Talakai and Williams who all will be/should be there.
Leaving 2 spots for Uele, Pele, Hunt, Teig + anyone we sign or re-sign such as Tolman who is great value.

So unless there is some movement on the contracts of Graham, Nikora or Uele it's probably overkill to look at Liu and definitely overkill to pay for Tapau.

I'd rather save the cash, front load and have plenty of money for a 7 if we go down the Moylan path next year.

Both Liu and Finucane are about adding leadership and defensive resolve more than anything

Additionally we are looking at having still an overall fairly young inexperienced spine with only potentially Moylan being a senior player, and questionable what our kicking will be like so the more meters the forwards can make and the more platform they can lay will help the spine immensely

I really like the idea of getting both and for the reasons bort mentioned but thinking getting either will be a win.

Having Liu, Finucane and McInnes will give us that steely resolve we desperately need. Lots of big game experience too.

I understand the experience side. I do think however that if we got Finucane, then he, Mcinnes and Graham are great experience in the pack and we might get as much go forward from what we have. Not that I don't like Liu. Say we moved Uele on i'd be all for him coming.

Yep true.

We're still lacking raw speed in the backline, we need to address that imo.

I wonder if stats for tries scored from inside your own 50 are available? I'm betting we're bottom 2 or 3.

Yep, if we could get one experienced middle then a strike outside back we'd be in a good spot. I don't think there are any genuine speedsters out there but someone like Gagai could look real good in the centres for us.
