As was reported a little while ago, training photos confirm that Luke Metcalf has returned the Sharks (unknown whether he is top 30, train and trial, or development list).

Most people on here know of Metcalf. He's a Shark's junior (yet another player who played under Bomber in the 20's) who went to Manly, did an ACL, and despite being healthy didn't play in 2020 because of Covid.

He's originally a half, but was playing fullback for Manly's NSW Cup team. He is lightning fast, but small and not a strong defender. He's young though. Plenty of time to improve.

He's looking a little bigger in these photos - which should help his cause. A full year for the Jets will serve him well.

Cautiously optimistic about this one. Wouldn't mind seeing him get a crack this year if we don't get Allan and Kennedy doesn't lift.

Article says he's to challenge Kennedy for the FB spot, which I hope not as it means we've given up on Allan or he's not coming potentially ?

Just a dev player for us unlike the other two but could find himself elevated if he trains and trials well and Kennedy doesn't start the season well...

The NRL fullback talk is a little premature IMO. He's played one game ever at fullback and had a shocker.

Yeah alright that didn't make for pretty watching haha
All I had seen of him was at the 9s
He'd have to do a lot of very good training and trialling!
