We shouldn't talk about anyone we'd never have a chance of signing, like Shaun Johnson for example.

More than happy to speculate about players in here but I was probably irritated that it was just from the word of one poster and next thing we’re all creaming ourselves about Rhyse bloody Martin joining us.

At least with Johnson reputable sources reported it and the rumour was pretty strong.

I guess you just have to take it for what it is. The question was hypothetical, so everyone answered hypothetically. At least that's how I took it.

Not one person is creaming themselves over Martin. People are having a discussion about whether or not they would take him. Nobody even thinks he is going to join us.

Is there a difference between rumour and speculation though? The rumour (no posted source) is that he's 'on the outter', speculating that we should then sign that player doesn't specifically fit the thread.
Now if the rumour was we were interested in him...

Not that I care that people responded to the rumour by speculating, just saying.
