Surely with all our shortage in outside backs, tupou would be someone the club is interested in??

This I agree with. We just need one of them or another consistent capable first grade winger.

If our 1-5 is

Holmes
Katoa
Dugan
Morris
Don/Topou

With Feki, Xerri, Gray, Tuli, Lume Lume etc we will be pretty well covered.

Pie in the sky stuff with Don or Tupou until we even know if we're even interested or putting an offer to them, on ability alone, Tupou is the better player but like all interest or feelers put out there by us to players etc would depend on what they bring to us in terms of ability & how much that ability will cost us in our budget plus salary vs budget/value for money.

This too is pie in the sky but if we could get Don for 200k & Tupou wants 400k, id go Don everyday of the week, Tupou's' better but he's not that much better.

It is a rumor mill...it is in response to the Rumor of use being Interested in Don and Topou not being happy at the roosters.....90% of the thread is "pie in the sky' stuff.
