It's pretty much accepted that most halves play better when their forwards are keeping the opposition on the back foot.

You get rare halves that seem to love being up against it and can even seem to play better when their team are on the back foot. Craig Field comes to mind.

Chad ain't one of those rare players though and seems to play twice as well when the team's rolling forward.

Agree with andrew's_sharks on this one.

Perhaps the greatest half to play for the Jets since they were punted from the top grade (apart from Robbo of course).

Not sure why the majority seem against considering Oates, he's a ripper, and wants to play in the forwards, but can obviously play elsewhere. Not many could score those tries he does.

Oates wants to play edge forward but is a great winger. Split the difference and play him in Leutele’s left centre position.

I think there’s a stigma with being a winger, historically it was where the least talented players were put. That’s changed in the last ten years, but if Oates is determined to get off the flank I say we offer him that left centre position with the chance of backrow if he excels.

Im sure someone who watches the qcup can weigh in but there must be a reason he's never gotten a crack. Esspecially behind their crap outside backs. Apparently his defence is woeful. On a minimum wage deal though I guess it couldn't hurt.

I saw him play in the NYC comp - lighting fast and can finish but defence is never a bit part of that comp. It could be an attitude thing, imo defence is rarely a reason you hold back a winger. If that was the case they'd be alot of wingers not playing first grade!

Riccio just announced Josh Morris close to signing with Sharks on 2GB!

So this would be a typical Flanno signing ... or is it ?

Established veteran signing = Flanno.

However Josh is not renowned for the tough runs coming out of his own end ...which has been a big part of our plan in recent years.
