Apparently Fifita has told Mal to go jump and has joined the Tonga squad.

Sounds like Mal is setting a good example with the 'good principles' stuff.

From what I remember the World Cup was the start of the cycle/end of the cycle - so that was when guys could make a swap of nations if they like.

So I think these guys have to stay with Tonga until the next World Cup.

Is that how it works?

They changed it for the lower tier teams. If u arent selected for ur country (aus, nz, england) and u r eligible u can play for another team but still be picked for the tier 1 teams in the future.

Dont know how this works in the case of fifita who was selected then bailed.

Its good to see tonga building a team, but it will become a joke if u have players bailing after selection. Should have had to nominate earlier

Meninga hasn't exactly treated Fifita very nicely in the past. I like this.

I can't believe that even with Fifita pulling out Vaughan didn't get a gig. What does the bloke have to do?

I find this so odd. Fifita inspired by lolo I guess?

Didn't he have the ****s all last year cause he didn't get picked? Can he still play for nsw even?

Im not sure. Playing for tonga wouldnt stop him being picked for origin normally, but pulling out of the kangaroos may.

In your head, rent free
why worry about origin?

the international game is lacking and 2 of the games best forwards have defected to a smaller nation. this is ****ing brilliant
