Yep. If Dragons win tomorrow that's the way it will be.

Hmm, wondering whether I'd rather we play Panthers or the Cowboys. Probably prefer Cowboys, Panthers are too much loved by NRL hierarchy at the moment.

To hell with the idea of playing this Melbourne team next week...

Enjoy it Parra.

Manly just totally out enthused Penrith from the start of game. When they realised they were in danger of missing out on the 8, they played much better. Would prefer to play the Cowboys. I think they can only play on emotion for so long, with so many players missing. Me gets the feeling their fuel tank is just about dry.

Totally. It's possible we don't meet them till the preliminary final, which would make our year look more than respectable. Unless Cam Smith gets an injury, they just win it this year.

I reckon the dragons will lose. We'll play cows first week.

That being said - I can't see anyone getting near them this year, and I hate that so much.

Could really do with some season ending injuries and/or lengthy suspensions out of this game.

I find some comfort knowing they are the only ones to lose a gf to us.

Yep - and everyone whinges about the Broncos' advantage, which they have, but at least they earn their way - Storm don't have to worry about anything - they're gifted a place in the comp each year despite the fact they couldn't possibly compete financially with the most desperate NSW clubs.

SOURCE : The Lurker .
IF true which club ? Penrith ? , Titans? Manly ?

One club has got itself in such a financial mess with the salary cap that it's hard to see how they could possibly sign another player before the 2016 season starts.

In fact, they will be busy offloading players.

Their plight is the talk of player agents and CEOs throughout the game and is a real worry for the club and the NRL.

It will all come out in the wash very soon but player managers are steering their clients well clear of the joint for now.

Little bit of a throw back from 2016... was it the dogs? Or was the lurker just flinging **** and hoping it sticks

take me up on my semi bet. If sharks make the semis, you owe me 50 and vice versa... surely that's inticing enough for you to change your ways?

It looks like we are going to finish 5th, which considering the season we've had and the form we have shown is remarkable.

Usually we'd be struggling to make the 8 playing like we've had.

It's been a year where we had no Ennis to bolster the defence and rally the troops when the chips were down.
No Barba saw us lose that attacking spark that brought some X factor to the side.

Everyone wants to beat the Premiers so each team we've played has lifted against us. I think most of the top sides have worked out our halves as well and pretty much know how we're going to attack.

We've defended well this year but the last four games it's been quite flimsy and maybe the hard work and grind each week is catching up with us.

I'm confident we'll beat Newcastle tomorrow and if we play semi final football we should beat the Panthers or Cowboys.
From there it obviously gets harder and I think winning the next game will prove too much for us.

I hope I'm wrong I really do, but I don't think we've got the team to get to week 3 this year.

But to finish 5th is admirable and it's not a totally bad defence of our title.
