They should have kept it as an amateur sport for the wealthy elite.

All enjoyment has gone out of the game now that I can't be sure whether it is a privileged toff whose face is being rucked.

Quite a few of the elite schools up my way have AFL posts on some of their fields now. Never would have seen that a few years back. The old boys would be turning in their graves. **** 'em.

They had a couple of periods where their game seemed strong - in the mid 90s when the game went professional and leading up to the 2003 World Cup in Australia.

Outside of that, has Union ever been that big in Australia?

Yeah it was quite entertaining in that period, there was some great Bledisloe Cup games.

I wouldn't mind one of those fat style forwards. Just anyone that can run the ball straight.
