Top 10 shoot out was a farce. Reynolds pretty much won by default, I reckon SVG would of beaten him if it didn't start pissing down again after Reynolds lap. Well, that's motor racing, Reynolds lap was good, but the weather gods smiled on him.

The ABC Grandstand facebook page said that the 'controversial' Reynolds is in pole position... I think it may be a bit soon to call him controversial

I never got to see a lap, got home from work just as Lowndes was celebrating - Yay the 888. Hubbys IQ'd it all for me, with a RBR win I will have to watch it.

I haven't seen a certain Erebus fan in this thread yet... always gives me heaps on FB every race weekend.

They have the stadium trucks at the gold Coast v8s. Is this the first year? Watching it on TV now. They are insane
Just spent three days there - those trucks are definitely amazing. The whole event is a good one; throw in a Chisel concert and it's a great few days.

Those trucks were nuts. Would love to have more of that.

I was watching them and my first thought was, imagine if they tried to race those things around Bathurst.......

Any predictions for Bathurst? Mine - Holden 1,2,3. Whincup/Dumbrell (88), Lowndes/Richards (888), and Tander/Luff (2).
SVG's having a great year but I dont think he can do it with Premat. I'm a fan of Scotty Mac, would love to see him surprise everyone and score a podium finish.

Whincup is probably the safest bet at the moment, he's been fastest all weekend and that car can go the distance easily. I don't care where Lowndesy qualifies, his cars always well and truely peak on Sunday. It wouldn't be Bathurst if Lowndesy wasn't fighting his way to the front from the middle of the pack. He'll be thereabouts as usual. Scotty McLauglin's Volvo has been the quickest thing on mountain on Sunday morning for the past two years, he starts well and pulls away from the pack at the start, but I don't know if that Volvo can go the distance. It usually fizzles out mid to late race or Scotty puts it in the wall. If they've finally figured out how to make that beast go the distance, they'll be hard to beat.

Brad Jones Racing generally saves its best for Bathurst, so a good roughie is Tim Slade/Ash Walsh. They've been pretty quick all weekend and Tim Slade is one of the most underrated drivers in the pack.

But my biggest smokey is the Will Davison/Johnny Webb car. Teckno motorsports is traditionally very quick on race day at Bathurst. They've qualified low, but that car will fight its way through the field and is very capable of pulling a monster upset.

Very uneventful race so far. Almost half way through and no safety cars. Only things worth noting so far was Timmy Slade's brakes caught fire in the pits, Lowndesy's gear box got stuck in 6th and as expected the race lap record has fallen.
