Nope, it was really poor, no excuses for that. I could forgive him if we'd been defending the line for 4 or 5 sets and we were out on out feet, but that wasn't the case. Very poor.
he wasn't in a position to take that 'risk' though, he should have been guarding the ball to make it a hell of a lot harder for the attacker to get the ball down but he wasn't, no excuses in my opinion
when a fullback is shepherding the ball over the line he should at least be right behind it not to the side of the damn thing schoolboy error that a first grade fullback should not make. Roberts had to run 20 metres to get to that ball even has fast as he is he should never have scored.he wasn't in a position to take that 'risk' though, he should have been guarding the ball to make it a hell of a lot harder for the attacker to get the ball down but he wasn't, no excuses in my opinion
Yeah snow saw it live and gave me the heads up cause I was ripping into Gal. Gal twice looked at his playmakers to give him an option to go with but none of them did.Just saw the replay, gal didn't want to go for the 2 at the end, you could see him say something along the lines of 'why go for the two for'
Bird was filthy
In that case I apologise to Gal as I've been ripping into him over this. Flanno on the other hand can go and.............................
No DJ I won't forget that. Absolutely inexcusable, I have no idea what Flash was thinking. You put the ball dead, no questions. Wade's pass was bad but that was a woeful play from Flash. And in the past I have been one of his admirers. When he first came to us the comparison with Gards was amazing. He was so much safer, he could hold the ball, and you always knew when a bomb went up Flash would be there to catch it.
Now its back to when Gards was fullback, heart in the mouth stuff. Yes we would have had to defend another six tackles in our 20 but it's better than scoring a try.
Flash must not be picked at Fullback against the Roosters - has to be Holmes.
I witnessed Flanno indicate to the trainer take the 2 as he was sitting on the bench. Right near the action.
I cannot fathom how he has the gall to indicate or suggest that it wasn't solely his decision.
Laughable.
He was 100% happy to take the 2... At the start of the match (which was just as ****ing bad) and at the end.
His mindset is killing this team.
I find it to be the very personification of the players mindset, Chaddles. It's the equivalent of taking the penalty kicks, of putting Wade in at 5/8 because Flanno didn't want to risk a rookie, of the up the middle till the last tackle, then kick and hope the opposition make a mistake mentality.
Every play, every tactic, every decision is conceived from a position of desperation, a mentality that is ground into every players psyche using the slender remains of their backbones, on a weekly basis by the coaches decisions.
It's why great players look bad. Why promising players have left, or all but given up. I genuinely think that if we played a positive brand of football, Gordon would be amongst the games best. Once again last week, our best attacking plays involved Gordon.
I have a feeling that Flanno opted for the 2 points to wind down the clock, less so than to get 4 points infront but alot can still happen on the field in 5 mins and when you are the Sharks it nearly always happens and it did
The crowd groaned when they pointed to the sticks and I think every fan at that stadium knew we were far from safe and likely to get scored against
I swear we must have one of the worst records for intercept try's scored against us. Since the Flanno days it feels like it occurs every second game and nearly always at Remondis
With Kimmorly you could sorta cop it occasionally because he was quality and generally speaking knew what he was doing but with this mob it's become a running joke that all other teams are in on
