Hopefully nu brown doesn't get stuffed around at newtown. Wish we had a loan system in the nrl. Could loan nu brown to raiders or titans he would probably get nrl game time there

the only concern I have with the newtown merge is how many players we can have play for them and also what position will they play our players

It could prove costly for the development of our rising players. It takes a lot of control away from the club in that regard.

Jimbob had some simple maths equations to support the idea of a loan system

Anyone know if Siolo and Sorensen are definitely gone?

Not sure but i'm not fussed if we don't keep them. As usual we have good backrow prospects in the 20s next year in Walker, Nisbet, Moraitas and Magoulias

In saying that. I think we need to keep hold of Sorensen at least. Great utility value and a name that's famous at the club.

So looking at line ups and am wondering who do people think was in better form all year out of Lewis and bukuya?

For mine Lewis was terrible last season, given he might have been playing with injury (his shoulders are stuffed) but if I had to choose I would take bukuya.

Also looking at line ups, surely we can't be stuck with Prior this season in the 17. Talk defending his shocking form on coaching is a joke, yes if he was young it might be plausible but he is experienced enough that the coach is no excuse, to make mistake after mistake and then make no meters at all with the ball.

Am really hoping that D Fifita might take some pointers from his' brother and have a massive pre season and push his way into the team.

Tough to rate either Bukuya or Lewis too much on 2014 form. Lewis had the banged up shoulder from the WC, which didn't heal easy from what I gather, as well as some other medical probs I think. Bukuya was obviously not finding his feet in NZ and played accordingly.

I was equally disappointed with Prior, but can't deny his form turned around. It always takes time to fit into a new squad at the best of times. Not sure about the 17 but I'm okay with giving him a chance on a steady ship hopefully without such an injury toll. If he deserves it good on him.

Just having a look at the current top 30 odd (according to the Sharks site we have a 29 man first squad currently)

Arona
Ashyford
Barba
Bird
Nu Brown
Mitch Brown
Ennis
Feki
D Fifita
A Fifita
Gagan
Gallen
Gardner
Gordon
Graham
Heighinton
Holmes
Houma
Leutele
Lewis
Murphy
Politoni
Prior
Robson
Roqica
Sauiluma
Taga
Toops
Wells

Add Beale, Stanley and that makes 32. Given we won't field a full reserve grade side I wonder how many blokes will not be around come Round 1.

I will guess Gards will go and if we can get rid of him Ashyford will go so probably Wells and Politoni will be a target as well as there are plenty of backs and we have Brown/Dietz to cover Ennis.

Will be interesting to see what happens pre round 1.
