When talking preseason injuries Wade said on James Graham's podcast that Kade did his hammy

Well they were talking trials then mentioned the Penrith bloke getting hurt in WCC then Wade said like "yeah it sucks, we had young Kade Dykes do a hammy after coming off an ACL".
Cheers. Wish the club was a bit more open about injury news, but that seems to be the way with most clubs.

Was some talk a few weeks ago that Kade had a niggle. Could be that... or something recent.

Secrecy on injuries is standard now. Need to make use of anything that might give you a slight advantage over the competition.

Wonder if he was considered for the bench role this week or did he not play nsw cup last week?

Perhaps getting some good miles in his legs from fullback .
GOOD STUFF - I think we will need him at some stage this year .

Kade Dykes – Newtown Jets

Dykes capped a brilliant display with the match-winning try in the final minute to complete a comeback victory against the Sea Eagles.

The fullback got his side on the scoreboard for the first time in the 45th minute, before bagging two more in the final 15 minutes.

Dykes, who is working his way back from a long-term injury, made the most of a linebreak to go over from dummy-half for his second.

His third then arrived off another linebreak when he reeled in an offload from Blake Hosking to split through the middle of the defence and touch down.

Can Kade play 5/8 or is he thought of as strictly a fullback? What sort of natural speed does he have? His Dad, Adam was a terrific player for the Sharks, Kade looks a bit bigger, does he have some comparable skills?

From the horses mouth

"My preference is probably fullback because I've spent the last couple of years there now and I’m starting to learn more and more about it," he said.

"But it's obviously a hard position to play and I've still got a lot to learn.

"I grew up playing in the halves also so I’d be pretty confident playing there as well.

Judging from what others have said, Dykes' defence probably isn't quite ready for playing in the halves just yet.
