A 5th tackle kick doesn’t always need to be a kick we need to try score off, we seem to have no regard or interest in trying for an opposition restart from under the posts.
Personally I wouldn’t, no. I’m not a fan. But I just can’t see Fitz dropping him no matter how bad he plays. It’s a real dilemma.
With teams starting to perfect the short drop out, the risk of a repeat set is lower and teams like to try to get the opposition starting their next set from 2-3 m out stuck in a corner.A 5th tackle kick doesn’t always need to be a kick we need to try score off, we seem to have no regard or interest in trying for an opposition restart from under the posts.
I was disappointed with how many times our attack failed last night. Overall, we had many opportunities to score points but didn't execute well.
You're not wrong. But we're 100% in on scoring or nothing so even a 60/40 chance off a drop out is better than giving the ball back. With teams starting to perfect the short drop out, the risk of a repeat set is lower and teams like to try to get the opposition starting their next set from 2-3 m out stuck in a corner.
Im not suggesting that you still shouldn’t try for one but I think the order of priority MIGHT have changed a bit
1. score - best case scenario
2. changeover 2-3 m out and in a corner (ie play the long game re Field position and be closer on the next attacking set)
3. Get a six again call from the ref
4. kick for a repeat set (risk giving away a 7 tackle set or short drop out and turning over possession anyway but 10-20 m out.
or I could be totally wrong, but just a thought.
I agree @Wiz - although I’d put us about on par with Raiders. The reality is ; the way we are playing and if keep with the same line-up
We are better then none of those teams, actually nowhere near as complete as any of them
Yeah I get nervous as soon as they say he’s earned a repeat set. Like you say, it’s no longer guaranteed and it’s a good rest for the defending team, and a good morale boost if they get it back. With teams starting to perfect the short drop out, the risk of a repeat set is lower and teams like to try to get the opposition starting their next set from 2-3 m out stuck in a corner.

I feel like raiders will roll us .. to beat raiders we need to play the long game, kick into corners, bore them to a pulpI agree @Wiz - although I’d put us about on par with Raiders.
I’m just saying there is a pretty good chance we make the top 4. Unfortunately I can’t see us getting it done at the business end because we can’t seem to match it with those teams.
Raiders defence is pretty shaky, it would be a bit of a shoot out.I feel like raiders will roll us .. to beat raiders we need to play the long game, kick into corners, bore them to a pulp
It’s like last year when we came second and everyone on here was like look we came second we are so good but in reality the realists knew we definitely weren’t the second best team
Yeah I have wondered if the week of from an attacking perspective did us more harm than good.I was disappointed with how many times our attack failed last night. Overall, I thought we had many opportunities to score points. However, our execution just didn't seem to work.
I dont think it would have helped. We have another bye pretty soon too. Hoping we can snag some a couple wins and get all our troops back to try get back in a groove before the finals come up.Yeah I have wondered if the week of from an attacking perspective did us more harm than good.
So Broncos at home again till mid - late July - may as well just stay at home all year ..Run home

All teams currently on 18 points, Storm will be 20 if they win tomorrow.
The last couple of rounds these teams face each other, could well be decided there. Raiders have a great set of fixtures leading into the final month
Pretty good chance given our recent history against themI feel like raiders will roll us ..

Straight through the front door Ricky reckons - hard to argue ..Pretty good chance given our recent history against them
