It's not unusual for good coaches to have bad patches.
Remember Panthers' fans wanted Cleary gone a few years ago. It happens.
We obviously have a glaring issue on the left, if he doesn't make a change then he's not learning. Golden Boy needs to be dropped, not like we don't have a very good replacement ready to go.
Unfortunately for Trindall sitting on the bench in first grade (or even playing 15 out of position) doesn't do a lot to keep pushing his case.
While I don't care that we had our 17th man not play I do think we'd have been better off having him run around in reserve grade for 80 mins (especially as stats suggest our halves in that had a shocker).
However I don't think Trindall makes much difference that game. Him being peppered by hard runners on the tryline isn't a recipe for success and we didn't lose it for lack of attack.
Any one or two less of these simple errors and we win that by not allowing sustained pressure on our line
Katoa 2
Mulitalo 2
Talakai 1
Other key things, a half not being able to defend the line isn't great but a second rower being as bad as Wilton was is inexcusable. Between the two of them it was a shambles.
Dale putting himself in position to get binned for hip drop after we'd already seen a bin for one earlier and game was in the balance was a big blue by our highest paid player we brought in to be a leader too.
