It's been a few years since I've had to pay full price, probably since we left Shark Park for Kogarah. The first year Covid affected it I rolled over to the following year, then Covid affected it again and that rebate rolled over to this year.
Can't even remember what I paid 3 years ago but about $450 per seat doesn't seem more than what I paid last time. Atleast not much more.
With limited seats again next year and every game being a sell out can't blame them for upping the price.
Yea it's a sellers market right now for the club - low supply of seating relative to higher demand for seating. The seated memberships are going to sell regardless of the price increase I feel (especially if there is less GA hill or concourse available). If we view the club as running a business wanting to make profit and be self sustainable long term it makes alot of sense to protect margins and pass on costs
Having some cash in the bank and assets at present doesn't give the club a free ride
I do feel for those long term members though, especially those with families they like to take and i'm not begrudging fans for being annoyed about it as things are getting more expensive all round and people just wanna go to the footy and have a good time without it costing the bank
As emotionally invested fans we view the club through a different lens
Does seem rough though considering don't seem to be getting much more than previous and the ground isn't complete yet
