I think he is becoming a gun. This kid has a bit of boyd cordner about him, can run a good line but just plays tough and hard for 80 minutes
Good comparison, it’s who I’ve likened him to his whole career. Future rep player this kidThis kid has a bit of boyd cordner about him, can run a good line but just plays tough and hard for 80 minutes
Maybe he can teach Ramien a thing or 2 in DHis tackling technique is second to none, not much gets passed him and only knows one way with ball in hand
100%. There is a certain Titans back rower on $1m+ per year. Dollar for dollar I know who is better off.He does his job with a minimum of fuss. I wasn't too sure of him first up, I didn't think there was anything special about him. But I would not swap him for anyone at the moment and if there was a City v Country game I reckon he'd go close to getting a jumper.
I love Teig, but Fifita is immense. He is so far ahead of others in his position and is copping way too much in the media.100%. There is a certain Titans back rower on $1m+ per year. Dollar for dollar I know who is better off.
Yes, this.Going well & has pretty much near established himself as one of first two second towers picked in our squad.
If I could get him to be mindful of anything, try to limit the cheap penalties he can give away occasionally.

Not a direct comparison between players but what is special about him is more like what was special about Cordner... seems to have guts and effort beyond your average player. Similar to what made Luke Lewis a great edge player, but Luke a bit more different coming from being a winger. He does his job with a minimum of fuss. At 186 I wouldn't call him a tower but he has definitely been massive for us this seasonGoing well & has pretty much near established himself as one of first two second towers picked in our squad.

Bad luck for him, deserves to cop it in the media... well I don't know if 'deserves' is the right word.I love Teig, but Fifita is immense. He is so far ahead of others in his position and is copping way too much in the media.
Haha, typo, didn’t mean tower, meant rower, as in 2nd rowerNot a direct comparison between players but what is special about him is more like what was special about Cordner... seems to have guts and effort beyond your average player.

But if you want to take the million+ payday to go an be a clubs star and saviour then you should expect to wear the pressure.
We have seen a few falter under the eye of fans, opposition supporters and media. If he was on 800k do you think the coach would be moving him to centre and bench and edge all the time 'trying to unlock him' or just let him play what he is good at?
We saw Ash Taylor mental crumble under the pressure and perhaps his body crumbled with him, I would expect he'd have had a better career if he'd stayed at broncos for 2/3 as much.
The difference is the likes of Tedesco, Turbo, DCE, Grant who build up into these big paydays at the club they are already at. They are proven performers there and the pressure doesn't come nearly as much when it is just an 'upgrade'. Also worth noting all the examples I though of there were spine players where they are naturally on the ball more, don't need to try and force it or gimmick it.
Fifita can does and will continue to win them games but it is very hard to get 1.2 million value from him week in week out in an otherwise weaker team he is supposed to be the saviour of from the edge.
I think they just don't think their halves/spine know how to use him properly. Last year he absolutely earned his salary, he was practically better than the next two edge back-rowers combined. This year their whole side is stinking, but he is still creating something from nothing every other game. Their whole side can be better, him included. I'd still take him on $1M.Fifita is immense when he wants to be
I think another difference is the sides they play for. When you have a strong surrounding cast it is easier to play to your value. I think if Fifita was playing at the Roosters, Manly or Melbourne it would be a different story. The difference is the likes of Tedesco, Turbo, DCE, Grant who build up into these big paydays at the club they are already at. For sure, probably unlikely those sides spend that much money to poach him though, which also means less pressure on him and more cash in rest of the squad which means... better support and less pressure on him. Even if he did sign for 1.2 with them they are better enough in other areas to win those rucks and field position to put him in a position to succeed.I think another difference is the sides they play for. Yep there are all sorts of strange things happening up there and Holbrook is starting to look sus. You let fogarty move on for brimson to play 6, but that experiment seemed to get abandoned quickly. I like the titans so I hope they can get sorted but it's not looking good at the moment. They definitely have a developing spine.
Next year will be interesting, I assume Brimmo at the back with Foran and Sexton in the halves... but the worse their team does the harder it is for Fifita to do what he is good at, the more media and fans pressure for him to do more given the cash he's on. He can't run at a retreating defence from 30 out if they never win field position and ruck battles, and moving him to centre doesn't fix that.
Foran move is interesting. If I was The I would go hard to get Jayden Campbell to break contract. Super exciting young player and attacking dynamo, famous family, dad was the OG Titan he can be the OG Dolphin.
Worst case you have Isaako there who is a very competent fullback#2
But short of a Munster, Ponga, Walsh type I think young JC would be a slam-dunk signing for them.

He's pretty much taken the most money he can get in exchange for putting himself in the most difficult possible circumstance and the only one who can prove he is worth it is him.
If there's any bloke that'd benefit from those push support players in motion it'd be DFitita. Would run riot with us or Melbourne.I think another difference is the sides they play for.
