I dont want Tamou and Woods in the same team

Neither

I'd look at Tamou if both Woods and Fifita departed.

I'd look at Tolman if he was like a Heighno sort of bargain experienced player and Woods left.

I don't see Woods leaving so don't think we'd want any of the above. These guys basically only have value if some of our more experienced forwards did leave and at the moment that is very unconfirmed, although one source of the Tamou talk is Mole saying we are talking to him because we think Fifi is cooked.

I'd maybe look at Asiata if he was cheap and we wanted to run Billy M/Asiata from 13 which we clearly don't and I'd much rather keep Rudolf there.

Ideally sign none of the above.

The thing that worries me about Tamou is that his resurgence in form seems to have coincided with contract time

I think he’d show up to play. His experience would help out our younger forwards so much, both on and off the field. I’d give him a 2 year deal for sure.

Never have been & still not rapt on Tamou, yes, better than average FG player but not justifying the big money he’s been on.

100% Agree. Surely we can secure a different, experienced front rower if we have to. Woodsy i could cop, but just never got the Rep hype on this guy.

There's a lot of chat coming out at the moment about how passionate Woods is. How much he fires up the other players with his passion for the club and footy.
Keeps it well behind closed doors, but they believe it... Woods' stock is a lot higher if that's the case.

You need a couple of guys like that in your team. The Heino's and Maloney's. And you can see that attitude across the squad now... it's paying off big time.

We have a gun core group of young developing forwards who are already doing an outstanding job week in week out and already have experienced props in Woods & Fifita

Foxsports article reckons we are after Tamou due to concerns over Fifita's fitness and chronic knee problem but why go straight to looking at an expensive big name option who isn't necessarily a reliable performer week in week out every season. Just cause we may lose Fifita doesn't mean you have to replace him with another prop on big money. We have been managing very well in the forwards without Andrew for most of the season.

And what if Fifita overcomes his injury woes and get back to how he was early July (playing well on limited minutes), then Tamou is just pushing a better younger forward to the bench or out of the 17 all together. And what does it say about Tamou if Penrith let him go or table a low ball offer at negotiation time (interesting no offer from penrith yet by the sounds of things). Perhaps that he isn't worth the money or that important to their premiership charge this season and next. He is their captain ffs

Fifita isn't playing as it stands anyway so Tamou is essentially replacing Jack Williams, Wilton or Tracey - big woop

I'm sure he will be on less money next year than he is right now but still. If we didn't already have Woods on our books (who is younger btw) or there was a firm line through Andrew's Fifita name I would be much more open to such a signing, heck I would probably encourage it.

⚠️BREAKING NEWS
___
The St George Illawarra Dragons have began plans to re-sign former captain Gareth Widdop and offload Queensland Maroons five-eighth Corey Norman, according to The Daily Telegraph.
___
The Dragons are eyeing off a direct player swap between the Warrington Wolves, which would see Norman join Greg Inglis and Blake Austin in 2021.
___
Norman has been dropped this week by Paul McGregor ahead of the clubs must win clash with the back-to-back reigning premiers.
___
Rookie Adam Clune has taken his place, which clearly shows how far Norman has fallen down the pecking order.
___
Discussions of a player swap came to fruition, as no NRL clubs were interested in signing Corey Norman.
___
At this stage, the Super League is his only option. Both men share the same manager which could either ease the process along, or complicate it.
___
If the player swap does not occur, Widdop is set to explore other options within the NRL.

Just copied and pasted this off some Facebook page**

Widdop went “home” cos he was homesick.
What’s changed for him to want to come back?

Woods is turning into a signing in the Ennis mould, very good older player running out of time for premiership. I watch Woods and see a guy making up for lost time. Too many years playing very well in crap teams. Bulldogs aside where he seemed to give up, but he wasn’t the only one.

We’ll go deep if we keep this attitude up. Starting this weekend when show Parra up for the pretenders they are.

Fmd Woods signing is nowhere near the same mould as Ennis' signing.

360 germs reckon pangai wants out. There's a big value forward I'd be willing to pay for.
